As the church, we are now entering the season of Advent. Advent means "coming" or arrival. During this time we focus on the themes of hope, peace, joy, and love. These help us prepare our hearts and minds for the celebration of Christmas and the arrival of our Lord Jesus Christ among us. This is the true meaning of Christmas.
As we move through the season, let us reflect on the great love of God who was willing to do the most heart-wrenching thing a parent can do; He sent His only Son into this world knowing that he would die in order to bring us back to Himself. And let us wait with joyful anticipation and rejoice at the birth of Jesus and what it means for us as Christmas draws near.
